Diamond polishers are top of the line when it comes to grinding, shaping, and texturizing concrete. Sandpaper-like pads on the bottom of the machines use various gradients of grit to resurface and polish the rough concrete, terrazzo, or marble into whatever level of smoothness and shine you want.
Unlike most grinders, which use metal-infused pads, our equipment from Xtreme Polishing Systems uses pads made from industrial-grade diamonds. Like a diamond drill bit, this technology gives our equipment a longer life and more durability than other grinders and polishers. The specialized shape of the diamond wheel prevents gouging in the concrete or other surfaces, and the many grits of pads available give us total control over how we’re affecting the materials.

Concrete floor refinishing is not completed all at once, and the specific process will depend on your situation, your building needs, and your design preferences. Our refinishing process is similar for terrazzo or marble surfaces and produces incredible results. After we consult with you about the specifics, we can estimate exactly what we’ll do and how long it will take.
Although timetables vary, the process of refinishing concrete floors can take approximately 1 week for every 1,000 square feet. Other concrete surfaces may take more or less time. Once we know what you need, we’ll customize our process and timetable to make your vision into reality.
For most of our clients, no major prep work is required. You may need to remove your items from the area being refinished, but that’s about it. We provide all necessary supplies and perform all the processes for preparation and clean-up. Our FloorDoctor professionals are prepared with personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all federal, state, and local safety guidelines.
We come prepared to protect and improve your property. After your concrete refinishing is complete, we use industrial janitorial supplies to keep your property clean.

The resurfacing step in refinishing concrete, terrazzo, or marble prepares it by grinding away the top layers to expose the harder, less damaged material underneath. This may take a few passes of our specialized grinders, using different grits of diamond padding to achieve the desired results.
After the surface of the concrete is prepared, we polish it to achieve the final texture, pattern, and shine. This may take several passes of our diamond polisher, using a finer grit of diamond pad, to finalize. Once the concrete has been completely polished, the FloorDoctor team offers more than 120 stain colors and finishes for you to choose from. If you’re refinishing stained concrete floors, we provide individual consultations to help you understand your choices.
When the stain has set, we infuse the concrete with a densifier, which seals the material’s pores to strengthen the surface and prevent dust build-up. The cement must cure for the appropriate amount of time, and then we seal it with epoxy to increase durability and protect your new diamond-polished surface from spills, dirt, and weather damage.
