FloorDoctor | Concrete Staining for Businesses, Homes, & All Properties

Concrete is a durable building material, popular in flooring and other surfaces. When done properly, stained concrete floors are jaw-droppingly gorgeous. However, when stained concrete floors in Texas aren’t done by companies that stain concrete floors with high levels of professionalism, the results can be disappointing. So, not surprisingly, stained concrete has gained a bad reputation over the past few years.

At FloorDoctor, we don’t do “traditional” concrete staining. Traditional stained concrete is acid etched and has a wax coating that wears away and discolors over time. Our true diamond polish technique ensures that you will continue to enjoy beautiful, lasting stained concrete for years to come. Your concrete stain in Waco, or DFW rustic concrete staining, or concrete staining in Fort Worth and beyond will make you the envy of your friends, colleagues, and clients – as long as it’s done right.

We are the premier contractors for concrete stain in Waco, TX, serving Texas businesses and residents along I-35, including Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin. So if you’re thinking “who stains concrete floors near me?” and your property is in the area, we do!

Whether you’re looking for stained concrete floors in homes, businesses, or industrial properties, you can trust the FloorDoctor experts to transform your indoor or outdoor space and amaze everyone who sees it. Don’t skimp on your Texas concrete stain. Get it done right the first time and enjoy it for a good long time.

We fix problems caused by DIY or less professional concrete staining

The best concrete staining results are achieved by professionals. Your flooring professionals have to know what they’re doing. When someone without expertise strips or stains concrete, they can damage the material and weaken its integrity or just create an eyesore. Repairing unprofessionally stained concrete might be an inconvenience, but, in the long term, it will be far more cost-effective to have professionals complete the job than to continue to re-stain the concrete with unprofessional or sub-par techniques. Get your Texas concrete stain done right.

The FloorDoctor team uses top-of-the-line equipment and concrete stains, epoxy, and sealants. We guarantee our diamond-polished finish. Every client receives outstanding results they will love, year after year.

We provide color samples upon request

Ask your FloorDoctor team member about color samples of your stained concrete choices. With dozens of options for colors, designs, and finishes for your stained concrete floors, basement floor, pool decks, countertops, and even furniture, we’re happy to help you find the finished look that’s right for you.

Indoor & outdoor residential concrete staining

Many people still think of concrete as a building material used only on a property’s exterior or only for industrial and commercial properties. But beautiful advancements have been made with stained concrete, and stained concrete in homes has grown in popularity over the past few decades. The best thing about using decorative concrete indoors and outdoors is that it doesn't scratch, scuff, or chip easily. It can also hold heavy weights without breaking, so it lasts longer than other materials.

Stained concrete is a stunning option for stairs, sidewalks, driveways, and entryways to your home. Beyond flooring, concrete can be used for kitchen and bathroom countertops, and a modern stained concrete patio and walkways can add life and personality to any backyard. No matter what area of your home needs durable, high-performance material, stained and polished concrete might be the option that exceeds all your expectations.

Stained Concrete Garage Floor

Many homes and businesses choose stained concrete for their garage floors, and with good reason. Garages naturally endure a lot of wear and tear, including chemical spills, weather damage, and impact from heavy objects.

Choose from 10 different types of epoxy, more than 30 pigments, and more than 90 colors and signature flake choices to personalize your home garage or make your commercial garage align with your company’s branding.

The process for concrete staining on garage floors is very similar to our process for staining indoor and outdoor concrete, but our specialized garage floor epoxy provides much more protection. • Superior stain & UV resistance
  • Clear & resilient topcoat
  • Quick-cure technology
  • A non-slip surface when finished

There’s no reason your garage flooring shouldn’t be as beautiful as the rest of your home. Let the professionals at FloorDoctor make it the garage of your dreams.

What You Need to Know About Diamond-Polished Stained Concrete

“Traditional” stained concrete is typically inexpensive and can be performed by non-professionals. It is performed by acid etching the concrete. Hydrochloric acid and metallic salts produce a chemical reaction with the lime in the concrete, which brings out the material’s natural colors in a kind of “marbling” effect. With this process, natural variations in the stone will cause different results, so you don’t have a lot of control over what happens. Once the stain has set, the concrete is typically sealed with a specialized wax coating, which is supposed to help prolong its life and protect it from wear.

Diamond-polished concrete is much higher quality and provides much more control over the process and final product. Our staining process is more thorough and intensive, producing better, longer-lasting results. Diamond polishing on stained concrete is still very cost-effective – often,

the cost is comparable to vinyl plank or tile installation. But diamond-polished concrete does not suffer the same damage or become dull the way that traditional stained concrete does.

When you need the best for your property, there’s no question that diamond-polished concrete is hands-down the best option.

Prep work required for concrete staining

We make the home improvement and concrete staining process as easy as possible for you. Our property and homeowner clients don’t usually need to do any prep work beyond clearing their floor of furniture, appliances, or other items in order for us to complete our concrete staining process. Our FloorDoctor experts arrive at your property with all the necessary supplies for preparation and clean-up.

FloorDoctor team members come prepared with personal protective equipment (PPE), lighting, drop cloths, and all other items we need to complete our work. We dedicate ourselves to providing the best safety and quality services in the industry.

After our job is done, we are equipped with top-of-the-line, industrial-strength cleaning supplies so that we can clean up after ourselves. No mess, no fuss for you. We aim to leave your property looking better and cleaner than when we arrived.

Here’s an overview of the step-by-step procedures of what we do. If you have any questions about the prep work or clean-up needed for your specific project, just ask.

Step 1: Remove Old/Damaged Materials

Surface preparation is especially vital in staining old concrete since surface need to be fully clean for acid stain to infiltrate the surface. The specialized equipment used by the FloorDoctor team in preparation for your stained concrete in Texas will quickly and easily remove old or damaged materials, including tile, wood, wax, sealants, carpet glue, mastic, and paint. For existing Texas concrete stain, we individually evaluate the right tools and methods for the job, so you end up with a floor ready and prepped for the new stained concrete floors.

Step 2: Grind & Polish Concrete

After old materials are removed and the concrete is exposed and prepared, we begin grinding away the surface-level concrete to prepare for your beautiful new stained concrete in Texas. Our diamond-infused grinding plates are specially designed to remove top levels of concrete without damaging the deeper levels or weakening their structural integrity. We come prepared with the right tools to handle stairs, edges, and corners, in addition to the flat spaces, so no spot on your property is overlooked.

After several passes with our grinding equipment, we switch the diamond-padded plates to a finer grit to polish the concrete to your desired texture. If any previous concrete staining needs to be chemically removed, we will apply the correct products at the proper time to ensure the concrete is ready for your new surface application.

Step 3: Stain & Cure Concrete

Once the surface of your concrete is prepared with grinding and polishing, we can apply our specialized concrete stains. We use only the best commercial-grade, acid-based concrete stains produced by Sherwin Williams. The stain must be applied evenly using professional techniques, the right pattern and order, and top-notch equipment to achieve the most outstanding, longest-lasting results. Think of us when you’re thinking “who stains concrete floors near me?” You will not be disappointed.

Typically, our stains require only a single application to fully saturate and dye the concrete to the final color. But some concrete staining projects will need a second coat or more application of stain to achieve the desired final outcome. We consult with every client, on every project, so we know exactly what is needed to guarantee you are 100% satisfied with your newly stained concrete floor or other surfaces.

FloorDoctor offers more than 120 stain colors and finishes, so we can always find a match for your vision. We’re happy to provide you with photos of our previous work along with color options and pattern samples to help you bring the vision for your property to life.

The new concrete stain will need to set for the appropriate amount of time. The timeline can vary based on specific conditions such as weather and humidity, the particular concrete at your property, and the color and finish you’ve chosen for your Texas concrete stain. Our experts will evaluate the curing time once the stain is applied and ensure that all precautions are in place to protect your property while the stain fully sets.

Step 4: Seal & Protect

When curing and drying time is complete, it’s time to seal and protect your concrete against foot traffic, damage, wear and tear, harsh weather, and anything else it might have to endure. Concrete sealers add another layer of protection to concrete. Without the sealing process, concrete will absorb moisture and may start to crack, spall, flake, and change color, among other things. The FloorDoctor team first applies a densifier, which penetrates the pores in the concrete and binds loose particles together into a crystalline structure. The densifier will strengthen the deep layers of your stained concrete in Texas and helps to prevent water infiltration, dirt and dust build-up, and chemical damage. The densifier must be allowed to cure and set properly to ensure the best results for your stained concrete slab.

Finally, our team will apply epoxy sealer that protects the surface levels of the concrete. Texas’s climate is harsh on materials, and our experts know exactly how to achieve beautiful and long-lasting results especially for stained concrete in Texas. Of course, we always recommend an epoxy sealant for best results, and on outdoor concrete, the sealant is absolutely necessary for extra UV and weather protection. We offer dozens of epoxy options and will be glad to assist you in choosing the right one, for a final stained concrete surface you’ll love.

Get your stained concrete flooring done right from the team with the know-how and experience, using equipment that’s guaranteed and products that last. That’s the FloorDoctor way.

What Are the Results Like?

Stained concrete offers a wide variety of options to suit any design or stylistic choice. From modern to rustic stained concrete floors, we can achieve a lasting beauty with the appearance of tile, wood, marble, or natural stone, all with durability backed by diamond polishing.

Can you stain concrete white?

Yes! White stained concrete is a gorgeous, popular choice in both commercial and residential buildings, and concrete staining is far more durable and long-lasting than painting your concrete. Both exterior and interior white stained concrete floors can provide a timeless look and quality that lasts. Of course, it can be more difficult to apply white concrete stain over darker colors, but it is still possible. Ask us how.

How long does concrete staining take?

The timeline of each project is determined by several important factors, including the location of your property, the weather conditions (if outdoors), the type of concrete on your property, and the color stain you choose. We provide a unique, customized timeline for every project, once we know all the factors we need to consider.

On average, our concrete refinishing process – including diamond polishing, staining, and sealing the concrete – is about 1 week per 1,000 square feet. Some jobs take longer, and some take less time. We can’t know the precise timeframe necessary until we consult with you about your specific property and its needs.

What kind of care does stained concrete need?

Stained concrete is very easy to maintain, and the upkeep is minimal. Most low-traffic areas require only regular dry mopping and the occasional wet mop with a pH-neutral solution (such as those made by Lysol, Dawn, and other common household cleaners) to keep them sparkling and looking like new. Use a broom, brush, or microfiber cloth for your regular cleaning to keep the surface dust-free and presentable.

For commercial properties with higher foot traffic or areas that require a deeper cleaning, you may want to use a swing buffer or auto scrubber when the floor begins to show signs of wear. Abrasive scrubbers, harsh chemicals, and acid-based cleaning solutions are not recommended, as they may damage the sealant.
